Displaced Art Institute students offered space at Helms College is stepping up to the plate to help students who are being displaced by the closure of the Art Institute of Atlanta and sister campuses. The Art Institute of Atlanta recently announced it will cease operations on September 30, 2023.

Augusta & Macon, GA – September 24, 2023 — Following the recent announcement by The Art Institute about their schools closing on September 30, 2023, Helms College aims to provide immediate educational options for hundreds of culinary students affected by this unexpected closure.

Helms College, with its commitment to excellence in culinary education, is inviting all affected culinary students from The Art Institute. We are dedicated to facilitating a seamless transition for those seeking to continue their educational journey at our Macon or Augusta, GA campuses. Helms College and its programs are licensed and approved by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET). ACCET is listed by the US. Department Of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

Recognizing the situation's urgency, Helms College has fast-tracked an academic session for displaced students. New classes will begin on October 9, 2023. Student housing options are available.
