The PHI programs emphasize technical and theoretical knowledge combined with the practical applications.
Polly’s Hospitality Institute (PHI) Diploma and Certificate programs provide comprehensive, seamless educational programs that give students knowledge and skills in the culinary arts. The Diploma program prepares graduates for executive chef, sous chef and restaurant manager positions. The Certificate program prepares the student to enter the following positions: baker, broiler cook, expediter, fry/sauté cook, pantry cook, pastry cook, soup and sauce cook, and vegetable cook. PHI programs emphasize technical and theoretical knowledge combined with the practical applications of cooking, baking, serving, and management skills needed for success in the food industry.
The objectives of the PHI diploma and certificate programs are to:
- Develop students’ competence to practice effectively in an entry-level position as a cook, pastry cook or food service management trainee;
- Ensure the ability to advance within the culinary and hospitality industry; and
- Promote lifelong enhancement of learning and opportunities.
